Feast of St. Blaise ~ February 3rd
Blessing of throats will take place after the daily Masses at both parishes. Mass time at St. Patrick’s is 7am and Mass time at St. Thomas Aquinas is at 10am.
St. Blaise is the patron saint of throat injuries and diseases because he was known to have cured a boy who was choking on a fish bone.
The priest will hold two candles, blessed the day before on Candlemas, over the head or throat while invoking the intercession of St. Blaise.
Through the intercession of St. Blaise, Bishop and martyr, May God deliver you from every disease of the throat and from every other illness, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
